When did your child first utter his first metaphor?

Grice is right about 'creatures deprived with language'. He is talking of animals, but I'm talking babies. As in:

"You must have been a beautiful baby".

I would argue that a child cannot conversationally implicate.

J would say: "Fair point. A child cannot speak".
