Pivotal remarks by Grice on child language

Apparently, students of child language (called "Mothers") note:

----- The first utterance of a 'Baby' ("My Baby") is

Then there's the two-pivot stage:

"Shoe brown"


----

and so on, till we get to Grice's remarks:

"It seems to me as though the pillar-box in front of me is _red_, without me wishing to imply conversationally, of course, that it is NOT red."
