Has been described wonderfully by Wharton in his CUP book (he credits Speranza! etc.) Bar-On and Green, after an excellent summary of ditto in "Lionspeak" online, do mention the
homo
or, as I prefer
homo sapiens
--- Similarly, I suggest we mention what BIRD (as per scientific name) it is when we are talking "Hawk!" -- not the hawk, I mean the plover. Green/Bar-On may perhaps cite, elsewhere, Grice's apt 1986 little thing on 'm-intentions' as being 'purely human' in "Reply to Richards".
But they write:
"How feasible is it to attribute these sorts of intention to nonhuman animals, or to other members of the genus Homo who may lack language? For that matter, how feasible is it to attribute such intentions to a prelinguistic child?"
