When Strawon, or Sir Peter (as he then wasn't) got his "Intro to Logical Theory" published by Methuen, Grice was 'all the rage', as they say.
The way Grice dealt with Strawson's complications, e.g in WoW:iv -- my favourite locus classicus here and what I consider to be by FAR the centre of the William James Memorial lectures in toto -- showed that he was, indeed, the last Strawson of them all!
