Grice as Butterfly-Collector

There are two types of butterfly collectors: the bad ones that kill _them_ and Grice who _enjoys_ them.

Witness "Conventional Generalised Implicature". He surely was overhearing things people say (including philosophers). A butterfly collector 'catches' the butterfly, names it, and kills it.

Grice, no.

So, while it is very cruel of a student of language to go on coining names for things,

Metaphtonymically, it is raining
(+> I urinate)

Grice was okay because he found it _fun_ and so do I.
Etc.

PS. "Italian text" for "Love Duet" in "Madama Butterfly": "Not in vain you're called Butterfly. You are one." "Are you implicating you are going to kill me? That is SO cruel". "I kill you because I love you." "Whatever".
