Grice and the River Iberus

People say "Hispanic" but that's wrong: It's "Iberian". The root of "Iberian" is a trick: the River Iberus.

Spanish is just ONE dialect of the Iberian peninsula. Coming from Liguria, where I originate, you first get a taste of CATALONIAN, which is pretty civilised, as languages go. It has a sound to it like Greek, only different. Also, there are very good discos, both in Ibiza and Minorca.

Then comes Castilian, but we don't need to go there, since it's midland, and thus boring.

Valencian is on the coast. Their implicatures are fun, but tend on the hyperbolic side (as does their music).

Andalucian is fun, and full of implicatures, too -- both conversational and conventional.

Then we get to safer ground: they Speak Brits in Gibraltar!
