Desperately Looking for Herbert

Apparently, the search function above does not work. It did work apparently for Tapper. If someone can lead me as how to tell Herbert to fix it for me, advice welcomed. Etc.

    JL,

    What I see when I enter the inner sanctum of the Grice Club is a dark blue toolbar above the legend THE GRICE CLUB. On the left side of this toolbar is the search box that works. The search box that doesn't work is the one inside the blog, labeled SEARCH THIS BLOG.

    Possibly not everyone has the blue toolbar on top, because it evidently is provided by Blogspot (other options inlcude Next Blog, etc.). Do you have it, JL?

    Many thanks. I posted a blog post about it, which I should post every now and then.

    I don't even have a "Find" function in this bloody thing I'm using at the Swimming-Pool Library. I spent "five" minutes finding the "Search for Herbert" post!

    There's a few things I need to learn.

    One good thing, e.g. would be how to reply to comment via e-mail. Etc.

    Anyway, Tapper. Hope this finds you excellently. Do some search one day.

    I think a good topic could be

    Albrittonism.

    I'm NOT sure, but I think Albritton pointed to Grice that

    "Ironically, it is raining"

    is a ridiculous thing to say. I'll have to recheck (with WoW:iii). In which case, all that rhetoricians are teaching our kids is otiose and _DANGEROUS_: knowing the name of the zeugma kills Dorothy Parker's "Zeugmatically, my room was so small it barely had room for me to lay my hat and a few friends". Etc.
