Grice thought that Oxonian dialectics were in a way superior to Athenian dialectics. They were more detached. Or less attached. For Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle were into the truth-value of things. Whereas, among Oxonians, only Urmson was (on occasion) seen as being.
Oddly, Paisiello, the author of "Barbier di Seviglia" wrote a less known opera, "Socrate Immaginario".
This he wrote after his flop, "I Pitagorici", which he later realised, "lacked a good waltz".
"Socrate immaginario" is all about Athenian dialectics in Naples!
