More Greek than Latin

They are discussing entries to West-Point. Davidson suggests Latin. Problem
is that "Latino" is anathema and trust some mothers to say, either, "My child
is chicano, he should do well in Latin", or "are we intervening Latin America
now?" There's also reference that in Victorian England 'miles' were indeed
taught the classics. But from what I recall, it served them to provide that
memorable Punch line, "Peccavi", I've Scinde, "Vovi" ... "I've Owd.
