Grice and the SERIOUS claim of 'common sense'

---

Grice pours scorn on Davidson's facile repudiation of scepticism and the idea that it is all learned when we learn the language.

Grice opines (PPQ, vol. 67, p. 14):

"Are we to be, like those who in Moore's
view go against common sense, persistently
engaged in sincere denials of what we
KNOW for CERTAIN to be true?"

Genial. Via implicature: No. Reductio ad absurdum of Davidson.
