Grice notes that '(Ex)' is perhaps best read as "at least" rather than 'some'. But what _is_ least?
Is the 'least' an algebraic quantifier, as in Quine's "The number of the apostles was at least, and at most, 12". "Most" is just as tricky. How this reflects in nonmonotonic implicature is examined in "Legacy of Grice", ed. K. Hall.
And there should be a formalisation about it.
