"Los caminos de "Meaning"" by Teso for Theorema

Abstract:

"Grice's "Meaning" introduces important methodological consequences to several aspects of communication already mentioned, but only superficially and without developing of its possible derivations. Some aspects of Peirce's semiotic theory can be beneficially related to the Gricean essential distinction among natural and non-natural meaning. Specifically, on the one hand, it is interesting the link between Peirce's indices and Grice's natural meaning, and, on the other, between symbols and non-natural meaning. The intentional nature and the way in which the intentionality of others is processed proposed by Grice have had a strong impacts on interesting current cognitive discussions, whose development may be relevant for Grice's purpose of deriving timeless meanings from utterers' occasion-meanings."
