Grice's Pluralism

--- by JLS
------ for the GC

IMMEDIATELY AFTER PRESENTING WHAT HIS "ULIMITED CONSTRUCTIONISM" LOOKS LIKE, Grice (PPQ, vol. 67, p. 2) goes on to talk of 'plurality':

---- "the escape from the invocation
of an UNconstructed segment [of reality]
is achieved by the supposition
of

a plurality of metaphsyical schemes

--- such that items which ARE primitive
in one scheme would be non-primitive
in another."

Echoes of Carnap!

And cfr. Grice on 'types' of priority (e.g. moral/legal) and even types of "conceptual" priority.
