Grice and M. Davidson on 'telling the same tale (all over again)'

"M. Davidson [brings] up the good point, "This is *why* [Oxonian] Tolkien didn't
like the Joseph Campbell approach", and I was reminded of "The teller in the
tale". Another aspect, to challenge Dennis Dutton with, where _Ilias_ hardly
compares to _The Sopranos_. We have the teller's telling being prior, and the
teller's including (alla myse-en-abyme) in the tale itself. Or something."
