That wonderful Latin prefix, 'quasi-', the implicat--- of which is interesting. ... I would argue that 'quasi-nero', quasi-bianco, near-hit,
and now the wonderful, 'quasi-bishop' of Dragon!
While the thread had been extensive, we had not gotten (sic) hold of the episcopus episcoporum that he came across with! One of my posts used the Greek 'transliteration' in the header, though:
episkopos episkopon

cfr. Grice as philosopher's philosopher
which was followed by my analysis of 'archi-' as almost as rhetorical."
This analysis of 'archi-' as rhetorical (M. Davidson's 'metaphoric') for 'quasi-' was deemed irrelevant by Dr. Gibson. And while it's serious that 'episcopus episcoporum' _has_ made it to the (so-called) literature (in German, no less), a look at the primary bibliography indicates that the rhetorical formation,
Nom. followed by Gen. Pl., is, as I call it, 'interpolated' (in this case, by 'te esse') killing the effect!:
Quid ad haec respondis, Constanti, cui crebro sunt adclamantes Arrianae dogmatis tuae episcopi episcopum te esse episcoporum: morientes propter deum unicum filium credis an non credis regnum possessuros caelorum?
Given the subordinate clause effect: episcopum te esse episcoporum, we need a Chomskyan pre-transformational rule to turn it into the 'oratio recta': tu sei obispo di obispi! It should not surprise that the bibl. ref. in the Italian is to a
Rome-based (i.e. Papist) publication!
