More on "Logical form and action sentences" (Grice, undated)

"Logical form and action sentences"

This is undated, and not to be confused with Davidson,

"The logical form OF action sentences".

-- and with sections in Grice, "Actions and events".

For the details of Davidson see elsewhere.

Most of this material was published by Grice in 1986 in his "Actions" bit of the "Actions and Events" paper for the Pacific Philosophical Quarterly.

Grice is much more of an Aristotelian than Davidson would be ashamed to confess he was.

For Grice, it's all about individuals and their powers, not about neutral-monism of events.

--- But he took Davidson's odd formalisation of 'actions' and 'events' seriously enough -- on a Friday afternoon!
