Analogy and Implicature

Speranza

As people realise, 'analogia' should be translated as 'proportio' and left at that! The issues that Lloyd and H. G. Moore and others discuss are VERY SERIOUS. Ross, who is a genius, discussed it from a 'linguistic' standpoint as some of the 'middle' Grice. We should consider that. We should recall that we are very much _on topic_, since Grice discusses this, appropriately, in the seldom cited essay, "Aristotle on the multiplicity of being".

Ross's thesis was on Aquinas, and in fact, the point of depature should be "De nominum analogia", which is NOT by Aquinas. And so on.
