Cannot for some reason paste "ευδαίμων" in title, but my marginal comment to Chapman on Grice on 'eudaimon' as Socrates's "Alcebiades"!
--- I think Grice finds the idea of a fairy godmother the equivalent to Ackrill's notion of the Greek concept (Ackrill, let's recall, was Grice's student at Oxford).
