Yes, the phrase either in singular or plural ('conversational category', 'conversational categories') does occur in Grice WoW ii. Call me naive if I think one of my raisons d'etre is that this be spread out!
I think it's Grice's main heritage: Kant Made Tongue-In-Cheek! (and swallowing Aristotle at one fell swoop). Those who attended Grice's joint seminars on Categories with Strawson _should_ be especially amused.
