Indeed, all of the members of Austin's kindergartens were _male_.
It's true that females _were_ allowed then, but Dummett (or "Murdoch" or "Anscombe", Grice writes) would NEVER attend a Saturday morning.
Chapman recalls how Grice's wife and daughter would NOT be allowed at St. John's except, if I recall alright, on holidays or stuff.
Talk of stuffy Oxford!
