For the details of Davidson see elsewhere. Most of this material, published by Grice in 1986 in his "Actions" bit of the "Actions and Events" paper for the Pacific Philosophical Quarterly.
Grice is much more of an Aristotelian than Davidson would be ashamed to confess he was. For Grice, it's all about individuals and their powers, not about neutral-monism of events.
