This should be easy enough to learn!
But No!
S. R. Chapman titles, with apologies, her paperback with Palgrave: "Grice: philosopher and linguist", to attract a wider audience.
The Bartlett online dictionary defines Grice as a "British logician".
And, to top it all, the OED3, which due to my efforts, has now included "implicature" -- vide online files for ADS-L -- has him as a British "linguist"!
One may just as well go with the anonymous obituarist in the Times and stick with him being an "amateur cricketer" -- except that I hate "amateur". It only makes sense when contrasting with "pros", which, in cricket, don´t count.
(Oddly, the most famous pro cricketer in England is Grace).
