Grice on compositionality

The author of "Horwich contra Davidson",

http://www.uea.ac.uk/~j108/Horwich.htm

writes "Bennett" but mutatis mutandis, Grice:

"Bennett [and Grice before him -- Speranza] can
think of ‘compositionality’ just as the problem
of segmenting the intentions behind an utterance so
that the constituent [utterance parts] are associated
with some [procedure] governing their significance."
