"Pirots and Obbles"

--- A typically titled essay by Grice, in the Archive. Since it IS witty, we expect he used it in talks, although it is non-dated.

An obble is just an object. A pirot is anything. But basically, at this stage, Grice wants to have pirots perceiving (potching) and cognising (cotching) obbles. The obble is potched or cotched. There's even fid. Fid is a relation between obbles. So the pirot can perceive, say, an obble o1 and being fid an obble o2. Part of this is repr. by Chapman, _Grice_ (Palgrave, 2006).
