Grice went to Clifton. Or rather he was SENT down to Clifton (by his wicked but otherwise charming mother). Grice would rather have stayed in Harborne.
Off in Clifton he would often suspend his-self from the Bridge.
Grice had a fascination with bridges.
In "Aspects of Reason" he considers:
"The reason why the bridge collapsed
was that it was its suspension
strings were made of cellophane"
--- He notes that 'reason' does not quite work there. Not quite 'do'. Why? Well, surely a bridge cannot reason!
