Speranza Participial

In his comment in ""Studies in the Way of Words": opportune?" Kramer friendily disparages my Speranza Participial:

Etymologically, opportune means "by the port"

Since there is no port in view when Grice was publishing "Studies in the Way of Words" -- there was, but it would be a stretch to think that he was having Fisherman´s Wharf in view -- it can never be opportune, but "inopportune".

There are many words that sound odd by _Speranza Participial_.

A bulgarian is a bugger, or a bugger a bulgarian. I can never tell!

Cheers,

JL
