Grice: First Series, Second Series -- and Flew

Flew has the "First Series" (1951) and Second Series -- of "Logic and Language". He was at Oxford till Sept. 1950, so we can see that his "First Series" is the unadulterated one. But how did he KNOW there was going to be a 'second series' that came AGES after?
