Flew: The Oxford Years with Grice (Jan. 1942 to Sept. 1950)
--- Please note that Flew ceased to be Oxford in Sept. 1950. And we should stick with the 'Oxford' Flew. Ditto, Grice ceased to be 'Oxford' in 1968 -- first term. But since we love Grice more than we love Flew, we say, "Once Oxford, allways Oxford". But in Flew's case it is important, because most of his seminal papers (incl. "The justification of punishment") came AFTER Sept. 1950, where those were the "dreaming" spires -- 'spires to be dreamed about rather than see in full sight on a Saturday morning, etc.") JLS
