WE KNOW THAT GRICE was influenced, wouldn't he?, by this obscure piece by G. F. Stout in "Mind", "Voluntary action". Grice grew to become a neo-Prichardian, and perhaps would criticise Hart and Hampshire for having remained neo-Stoutians (as he himself was in his 1949 "Disposition and Intention":
