Speranza
By "English philosopher," I'm playing with Grice's playing with "French poet" (in "Aristotle on the multiplicity of being").
We can say Grice was an English philosopher in that, while his first languages were Greek and Latin, at Clifton, he took the English idioms seriously enough to castigate his tutees for misusing them!
