--- That must have been a long weekend, since I've never read anything as long as Locke's Essay Concerning Human Understanding. What hurts is that the thing can be encapsulated in an abstract:
---- "The point of this book is to prove that
all comes from experience. After murdering Descartes's
stupid arguments to the effect that babies KNOW, we
prove they know diddly. We go on to analyse the
empirical basis of the least empirical notions, such
as self. The remaining books are for amusement, only.
No index or illustrations."
