Possibly, I would bet (and I do bet), the reason why Grice avoided 'philosophy of mind' (and preferred 'philosophical psychology') is that he was Ackrill's tutor. And as such, the expert in Aristotle in Oxford in the 1950s. And Aristotle uses 'soul' (psyche), never 'mind'!
