System C, System G

by JLS for the Grice Club

For the record then, Jones on "Grice on vacuous names" available at this site below. I have commented myself on bits of "Vacuous Names" in this blog and may intend to continue further (e.g. vis a vis our joint project with Jones on Carnap-Grice in the 'City of Eternal Truth' blog).

------- Jones calls his system "System C" as a tribute to Carnap -- in the same way as Grice had called his "System Q" to honour Quine, and Myro his "System G" to honour Grice. I have elsewhere referred to System GHP as a 'highly powerful' version of Myro's system G -- or 'hopefully plausible' if you mustn't!
