Pegasus carried the tunderbolts of Zeus -- who disliked the arrogance of Bellerophon

The wiki says that Bellerophon thought he could 'fly' -- by riding Pegasus that is -- as when Kripke demonstrated that pigs CAN fly by taking one to Hawaii.

----

Zeus disliked Bellerophon.

Bellerophon rode Pegasus to reach Olympus and 'see the gods'. But Zeus, clever as he was, sent a gadlfy which attacked Pegasus. In the incident, Bellerophon fell and so he never 'saw the gods'.

Moral: a mythical horse can fly, but not your average human. Cruel.
