Fifth feature regarding scope-precedence in Grice's natural deduction system

The fifth and last feature concerns the points about the magnitudes

=, <, and >

---

Grice is able to use variables for natural numbers, because his concern is with ordinalness.

"The significance of numerical subscripts is purely ordinal"

To that effect he defines two formulae as isomorphs,

"provided 'subscripts apart, phi and psi are identical, and relations of magnitude ... holding between any pair of subscripts in phi are preserved between the corresponding pair of subscripts in phi.'"
