implicature by means of something of
the nature of a figure of speech.

Again, note Grice's extreme colloquialism: 'figure of speech', skhema lexeos of the Greek. There as a second class, 'figures of thought'. Both usually credited as 'figurae rhetoricae' simpliciter (although I go for speech anyday, and find the second type irredeemably mentalistic):
