(Clarendon! Why don't they just

publish -- this remidns me of Joyce

Chapman adds:

"He would begin with a _memoir_

of an autobiographical kind."

--- which is one of the funniest things I've

read seeing that they come from the

very feather of one Paul Grice!



Chapman adds:

"The talk he gave at Seattle

was a sketch for this."


---- This is intersting since the Routledge

dictionary has Grice as being a Visiting

Prof. at Seattle till 1990. But he died

in 1988, so this cannot be a pre-quel

to the sketch, right?


Chapman adds:
