On the Implicit Definition of Grice

---- A surname as the Brits call it -- e.g. 'Grice' --, need not have an etymology, less so a Fregean sense.

L. J. K. objected, "Surely every surname must have One etymology -- or other".

Dunno. A lot of philosophers of the monosyllabic tradition are of Asian origin and perhaps their surnames are originally ideographic rather than ideogrammic.

But what about _sense_?

Must a surname, such as "Grice" have _sense_?

"Well, in a sense, yes;" and, implicating, "in another sense, no".
