I read elsewhere:
"The name 'Le Grice,' however it is spelt, has three possible meanings. The first is a direct transition from Old French and simply means The Grey. Probably referring to hair ie "The Grey-haired Ones". But if we keep digging it also means "Swine-herd" or "Pig Farmer". This translation is similar in both Middle French, Old French and even Icelandic."
So now you know.
Beware: Grice disliked amor theologicus as much as he disliked odium theologicum. I actually dislike odium-theologicum _MORE_ because it's neuter.
