The plural of grouse, the bird, is 'grouse'.
However, anyone who is onto the English silly season, as I am, will be aware of the
popular misconception that the pl. of "grouse" is ... "grice".
This is just etymythological, and arising from the way Prince Charles pronounces the word. He also calls a house a hice.
