Much has been written about the neo-Griceians, and I have played, HERE and elsewhere, with the palæo-Griceians.
I really meant H. P. Grice as the main palæo-Griceians. But this term of art may have more than one sense!
I propose to refer to the palæo-Griceians as people like, say, Sidonius.
There you browse the Latin Dictionary, and you find, as an entry -- Grice would say, "I give a hoot what the dictionary says" -- "inplicatura" [sic -- with an "n"] -- as used by Sidonius.
So in what sense can we say
-- that this is a coinage by Grice?
-- I'm not implicating that it is a coinage by Sidonius! Sidonius merely CONJUGATES, etc. -- or 'plays with,' as Grice prefers -- 'implicare', and there you have it, 'inplicatura'.
