The Oxford philosopher L. J. Cohen, who should know better, once criticised Grice's Modified Occam's Razor. But Cohen's own proposal is so convoluted that it motivated a long response not by Grice of course (who could not care less) but by R. C. S. Walker, a colonial then studying at Oxford.
