    what about:
    In Tudor England, bridal bouquets were made with marigolds which were eaten after the ceremony to ensure fertility. Many variations can occur.

    The post shows the connection Grice/Dummett via Williams.

    It's not odd that Williams should quote both from Grice and Dummett. The reference to Grice by Williams is academic: "Conversational implicatures are, for Grice, a sub-class of non-conventional implicatures". The reference to Dummett, on the other hand, is personal: "I am grateful to Michael Dummett for the example in the text." which should be requoted. Or not.
