"prima persona" -- Grice on

Well, my marginalia on Chapman, p. 66, rather.

It's all about

first person: "I"

second person: "Thou"

third person: "She"

It strikes Grice that for the behaviourist (a 'silly' one in his descript), the first person is really the _third_ person.

On the other hand, seeing that 'prosona' is such an ungly Grecianism, who coined 'prima persona' to mean the silly thing it means -- e.g. in blessed Anscombe, "The First Person". One wonders.
