Grice cited by Dummett

Speranza

Heck writes:

"The fact that speech is a form

of rational action was emphasized by many of the
philosophers in the ordinary language school and is at the center of H. P. Grice’s
discussions of implicature. Not many philosophers have given the fact much notice
in recent years, however, though there are two very notable exceptions: Michael
Dummett and John McDowell."
