Integrating Grice on reason, value and meaning

BonnieJean Kurle decided to have her Ph.D. in Philosophy, Purdue University, on “Reasonable Language: An Integrative Study in Grice’s Theories of Meaning, Reason, and Value”, with a Committee comprised by Rod Bertolet (chair), Chris Pincock, and Dan Kelly. She hods a M.A. in Philosophy, Gonzaga University, on “How to Cheat at Language Games: An Analysis of Unruly Illocutions” (Committee: Richard McClelland (advisor) and John Wagner. Her other presentations include
“Frank & Earnest: an analysis of sincerity, its nature, and its role in communication acts”, for The Northwest Philosophy Conference, and “The Importance of Being Earnest: sincerity in the real world”. Like Grice, she believes in the value of tutorial, and finds Grice's emphasis on reasonable (never just rational) conversation just liberating.
