Grice on Convention T -- and the dangers of WOLOG!

From PPQ, vol. 67, p. 16.

When trying to generalise from Davidson's account of "Shaun kicked Shem" to n-adic predicates, Grice gets offended!

----

He notes, in a genial bracket:

"We should perhaps at this stage also
bear in mind that at least ONE
would-be philosophical theory
(a near ancestor of Convention T, viz.,
the 'Disappearance Analysis of Truth')
has ... foundered on the shoals
of non-formulability"!
