The Good Gricean

"In this paper, I argue that [some authors or writers] have often misunderstood H. P. Grice by taking him to be focused on audiences' interpretation processes."

"Once we realize that this was not Grice's project, I suggest we can see that some commonly accepted objections to Grice's version of the saying/implicating distinction do not succeed."

"In addition, I pose some difficulties for relevance theory, stemming from differences between speakers and audience's perspectives."
