"constitutive or otherwise"

My remark on Chapman, p. 132.

Quoting from Grice:

(on Searle)

(and thus on Rawls)

"one place where we (sic) differ
(i.e Grice and _Searle_) is that
I am _not_ prepared to treat as
primitive the notion of 'rule'
-- whether constitutive or otherwise --."

I just love how he omits the grandest redundance (as Kramer spells) of all: the regulative rule!
