I have elsewhere in this forum and elsewhere referred often to Grice's reluctance, if reluctance it was, to stick to Kant's "conversational categories", in Kant's order -- Quantität, Qualität, Relation, and Modus. An example: anyone who's cared to read Kant in _his_ vernacular will know that despite his avowal to the contrary (WoW:ii:26) is '[E]choing' Norman Kemp Smith!
